Abstract
This dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied.
Point source data describing the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) concentration in groundwater from bores screening Permian aquifers in the Pedirka Basin.
Purpose
To indicate groundwater quality trends in the Pedirka Basin aquifer, specifically salinity (mg/L).
Dataset History
Derived through the Northern Territory Government, Spatial Data and Mapping, Water Resources Division www.ntlis.nt.gov.au., as follows; Data is collected initially by the person who constructs the bore via a paper form. This form is then stored on a file. Historically this has occurred over the past 50 years. Additional information may be added to the file by geologists or other staff who have an interest in the bore. Some of these files have been transferred to digital format. (http://nrmaps.nt.gov.au/). Interpretation and analysis are detailed in Wohling D, Keppel M, Fulton S, Costar A, Sampson L and Berens V 2013b.
