Formation tops exploration wells

Abstract

This dataset was supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and is presented here as originally supplied. The metadata was not provided by the data supplier and has been compiled by the programme based on known details.

This data set is a spreadsheet of formation top intersections at coal seam gas and exploration wells. The data set was provided by Metgasco Limited for use in the Bioregional Assessment.

Dataset History

This data set is a spreadsheet of formation top intersections at coal seam gas and selected petroleum exploration wells in the Clarence-Moreton Basin in NSW. It was provided by Metgasco Limited. It shows the depth where different stratigraphic units are intersected at different wells. It mostly follows the new revised stratigraphic (Doig and Stanmore, 2012) of the Clarence-Moreton Basin. It forms a key component of the development of the 3D geological model of the Clarence-Moreton bioregion.

More detail on its role in the 3D geological model development are provided in Clarence-Moreton bioregional assessment product 2.1-2.2 (Raiber et al., 2016).
