Abstract
This dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. The parent datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.
The purpose of this dataset is for future import into the Assets & Receptors database. Additional columns have been included from the original data including:
Element ID and Element Name, Asset ID and Asset Name. These are automatically generated based on the 'class' and 'WaterCodeSourcesList'.
QLD DNRM had previously provided an extract from their licensing system of surface water licences across QLD (bf1085d8-9752-4533-a65a-820a020907db). In the extract, most licences did not have a location (lat/long). QLD DNRM was also unable to provide management areas that these licences could be linked to in absence of a location.
QLD DNRM has been able to link the licence to the centroid of the property from cadastre maps. Although this is not 100% accurate, it now allows future users of the surface water licences to be able to plot locations within a catchment.
Dataset History
This dataset has been clipped to the Galilee PAE from the whole of Queensland dataset. The dataset has also been adapted to fit the asset database by adding additional information as outlined below.
The purpose of this dataset is for future import into the Assets & Receptors database. Additional columns have been included from the original data including:
Element ID and Element Name, Asset ID and Asset Name. These are automatically generated based on the 'class' and 'WaterCodeSourcesList'.
'Class' aggregates the purpose of the licence into the set classes for the Asset Database.
Where purpose = domestic; or domestic & stock; or stock then it was classed as 'basic water right'. Where it is listed as both a domestic/stock and a licensed use such as irrigation, it was classed as a 'water access right.' All other take and use were classed as a 'water access right'.
QLD DNRM have linked all known licences (surface water and groundwater) to the centroid of the lot from the cadastre plans.
This data should only be used where there is not a known location for the offtake (surface water) or the bore (groundwater).
Lots can be very large so the accuracy of the data varies depending on the property size. Surface water licences may plot no where near the water source.
